Fred V. Morrone Educational Fund |
Superintendent Morrone who was serving as the incoming president of the International Association of Airport and Seaport Police at the time of this death had a great concern about the education on terrorism even prior to 9/11. One of Fred's concerns was always the lack of professional port police training for police officers from third world countries in particular and was working with the lAASP on his vision and plans to establish subsidized training programs to further assistance within the profession.
Following Fred's untimely death, the international board resolved to continue the initiative and to establish a strategic plan to make the Education Fund concept become a reality. Training and exchange programs are a vital way to ensure the networking and education needed are accomplished. In Fred's memory; The Fred Morrone Education Program was established, which relies mainly on donations and fund raising activities.
We wish to particularly thank the Dutch contingent for their initial support in establishing this fund and continue to ways to provide further assistance and training.
