Transportation Authorities
Understanding Transportations Authorities
Understanding airports, seaports and transit systems is a not always a simple matter. Each can be operated differently depending on the country and jurisdiction. In the United States, they are public "government authorities" chartered like a city.  In many places in the world they are run privately. Regardless someone has law enforcement, public safety and security responsibilities for an airport, seaport or transit system.  9/11 it has changed the intensity and way we protect our critical infrastructure.

Each and every day the men and women of police and public safety departments work locally and globally to protect passengers, cargo and the infrastructure operations around the world making sure everyone and everything is as safe as possible.

If you have a specific question about ports or law enforcement and how they operate or who has jurisdiction please contact us at info@iaspolice.org
