USAccessID FAQ |
- What is USAccessID?
A non-profit program of the U.S. Airport and Seaport Police in alliance with the International Association of Airport and Seaport Police - Americas Region. Our staff has worked on TWIC and other identity management programs since the inception of the legislation and works closely with Congress and DHS to ensure are the coordination of all government efforts and to assist the public transportation community in their efforts to comply and move forward in a way that maximizes resources and speak with the federal government with one voice.
- What makes USAccessID different?
As stated we are a non-profit of the U.S. Airport and Seaport Police, here to forge a federated access and trusted registry on behalf of the transportation authority and their industry partners. Collectively we all will work together to forge a transparent system with a national user group made up of agency users.
- What is the TITAC user group?
The Transportation Information and Technology Access Council is made up of committees from staff of public transportation authorities (voting) and non-voting members of transportation partners. Any agency on the system user should participate.
- How do I know the USAcessID is a step ahead?
In addition to having a hosted platform for instant access to the system and the availability to update the software as required, our staff works with DHS, its appropriate agencies like TSA and Coast Guard. In addition we are engaged with Congress and GSA who manages the Federal Bridge, of which we are comparable. We also attend government and industry forums on identity and access management and report to the users.
- What is the Federal Bridge?
Congress designated GSA to set up a uniform platform using the HPD12 standard for all 13 agencies of the government and the Department of Defense (with a couple of exceptions for intelligence). These agencies are using FIP201 PIV compliant standards for a national interoperable program. Each agency and state and local government with proper permission may access the Federal bridge to obtain this interoperability through the USAccess government program. Currently about 50% of the government's employees are enrolled. Some entire agencies are completed.
